Well first of all, there is no type of nursing home or assisted living facilities in India. The majority of the people are poor. Once the kids have grown up and are married, they work and take care of the parents. After marraige, the girl moves into her husbands home with his family, unless there is no boy in her home, then he will move in with her family. Family is very important and they are very close. They are brought up to be very respectful people. It is just their culture.

Because in some cultures they don't believe in putting their parents in an old folks home simply because they believe if their prents took care of them then they should return the favor and this custom goes on and on for generations unlike some people or cultures that are selfish and will put their parents in an old folks home just so they don't have to put up with them now if the parent had specail needs then that is sort of understandable but even still I would hire a nurse or something they even have government programs where they will send someone to the house if you can't afford it so I guess that isn't really an excuse imagine if when we were little our parents gave up on us and put us in a home where would we be today
