Friend, you are a soft-ware engnieer and RAW is not the right place for you, as all the documentations are analysed by different facilities.
You should not be carried over by the Indian Silver screen matnee idols who do all sorts of funny circus in the name of RAW agent.
Still you opt for it, you have to clear Indian Police Service Commission Exams of UPSC and have to under go Inteligence Beauru's screening tests and may get a chance to work with RAW. on deputation. The scope for the senior field staff are very much limited.
You should have born with excellent courage, IQ, physical standards at sportsmen quality.....Rest once you are entrusted with an assignment you will know....But don't repent!!!!
Salary and other benifits will be slightly higher, compared to the Police personel.

RAW is recruiting 50 % by direct recruitment for the junior level posts. For technical posts they are conducting campus interviews.
Sorry, I couldn't provide u more details. I could find nothing about recruitment on the net.

Join either thru Police/CRPF/BSF (IPS) or from the Army Intelligence.
As said, its no direct recruitment (Like in ISI), you are deputed to R&AW, from either of the above mentioned or from other intelligence agencies like IB, CBI etc.
