Does anyone remember the lime green barrels in Milk Tray ?chocolates, I used to love them, and now they are no more, what about mint cracknell that stung your tongue because the cracknell was so sharp, or sweet tobacco, spangles tiger nuts and while I am at it what has happened to cocconut cream biscuits? I can't find any for love, money or anything else, and cocconut dainties - square soft fondant marshmallowy stuff on a really thin wafer covered with chocolate and cocconut. Anyone else miss them or are these goodies hiding somewhere just waiting to be found? What do you miss?

Does anyone remember the lime green barrels in Milk Tray ?
Never heard of it!
In marketing I learned that 6000 new products come on the market annually, but only 10% survive consumer acceptance!
To me...the best cereal ever was Klondike Pete's Gold Rush cereal from about 1976 or 1977. Poof! It's gone!
My cousin from Michigan tells me about some Tony Jr cereal. Of course Kellogg's probably test marketed stuff in Michigan that those of us in Mississippi never saw!

You must live in the U.K.. I've never heard of any of those, but I can sympathize. Here in the U.S. there are disappearing goodies, too. There used to be a candy bar called 'Cherry Humps', and Peter Paul Almond Clusters, Klein's Lunch Bar, Chuckles, Walnettos. And even the ones that are still around have been changed, so that most of them aren't as good anymore.

Yes young miss - although your question does betray you to be of a certain age (I won't tell!!!!). There are many things which I too remember which are no longer available - everlasting strips - remember them??? - enormous gob-stoppers that changed colour in your mouth as you sucked them - it was impossible to crunch them. Although you can still get them - Maynards Wine Gums - they're not the same they changed the forula for them some years ago and they don't taste the same anymore. It's now impossible to get Maynards Fruit Salad Gums too. What about Sherbet Dabs with the toffee on a stick inside - Remember them???

Wafflebox! You are my new hero - a fellow believer in the chocolate covered pretzel. they truly are the snack of the gods!
Incidentally I went to florida and managed to find some but they were not exactly on every choccy shelf! much to my disappointment.
A SHOUT to anyone who can get these by the barrel load - contact me and tell me where you live, so i might add your glorius country to my destination list and eat all the pretzels. =)
[edit] in fact, if you do successfully manage to reproduce them using your own recipie, I may send you a stack of cash to ship some to me here in london =) [/edit]

I've never heard of the candies you mentioned, but I can tell you really enjoyed them. As for me there was a candy bar from Australia that was dark chocolate with cherry coconut filling they were divine. They sell them any more in the states. But I know what it is to miss a candy you truly enjoyed eating.

omg all the treats you mentioned sound really great. i want to try all of them! but i guess we are living in different areas so i will never find them at my place. but things that i ate during my childhood most of them can still be found at neighbourhood marts..those that sell cheaper stuff than hypermarts or supermarkets. maybe cos it's just 10+ years ago only.

Is it just MORE than coincidence that nearly all the answers about sweets (Candies) have been answered by Americans who are probably well overweight through eating too many of them?
