I think you have things a bit upside down. Which Muslim countries open tolerate Christians and Jews? Muslim culture is xenophobic by its examples. Israel welcomes all religion where they live in harmony. In all Western countries, we see the ability to pursue religious freedom. Remember, not all Muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslim; moreover, most Muslims are terrorist sympathizers. Why aren't the non-terrorist Muslims taking a stand against the actions of these awful groups? Where are their women in political landscape? We openly criticize inequality in cultures, something you would not be able to do behind the Arab/Muslim curtain. That is where you'd find the fear that you are talking about. A better question, though, is why the Muslims don't follow the doctrine set out by their religion that you list. They pit one faction against the other in Islam itself. They have little tolerance for difference. Which reading of the Koran are they using?

As a Jew, I do not fear nor do I hate the True Islamic religion, or It's TRUE followers. Some people fear that which they do not understand. Many Christians would be surprised to know that the story of the nativity (the birth of Jesus) is actually part of the Koran (believe it or not this is actually one of the correct spellings for the transliteration of the Arabic word). I read part of the Koran for a Literature class in college. Did it change my beliefs; no it didn't. My beliefs are strong enough that I do not fear reading the texts of other religions to learn about them.
As for the Muslims that I do hate and somewhat fear, these are the ones that have defiled and corrupted an otherwise peaceful and respectable religion that has suffer the embarrassment of their actions. They supposedly read a corrupted version of the Koran that was written to serve the needs some evil people that are no better than the Nazis.
We all worship the same G-d no matter whether you are a Jewish, Catholic, Islamic, or Christian. And if that's not your cup of tea then so be it, as long as what you do is for the improvement of humanity as a whole. Even if you do not believe in religion, as long as you are a good person and lead a good life.

for all you people who say islam tells to kill infidels:
You have totally taken the verse out of context. You guys just pick out verses where it says to kill them, yet you dont look the verse before and after that and what context it was. If Islam tells to kil all infidels, how come the Jews that lived near the Muslims in Medina not killed?....when Christians conquered Spain, they massacred all muslims and jews. What do you call that? and when Salahadin conqured Jerusalem, he did not kill any christians or jews, but when non muslims conqured muslims, they didnt spare any. Watch kingdom of heave for that! lol
First of all you cant kill a person who converted to some other relgion from Islam since there is no Islamic Khalifa (rule). Second of all, tthe person has to openly bash about Islam. Third of all, he is given choices like whether he wants to stay in Islamic society and stuff. I really dont know a lot so i suggest You should search at Islamic sites.
Excuse me, Israel does not allow harmony and peace in its state. It kills Palestenians and it has so many palestenian and lebanese prisoners in its dungeons withouth fair trial. You call that harmony?.... and to the one who stated all dates of extremists.......uhh look at other religions and how much bad stuff they did.....way more than Islam.
TO Bionimetiket:
uhh...Khaled bin waleed was not a battle,,he was a companion of the prophet. By the way, the prophet only fought in 27 battles

The best thing to do is to not see yourself as a victim of others' perceptions and to love them -- and to realize that people will be fearful when they see those who kill in the name of Islam. People will be fearful when equal rights for women and others are dismissed in the name of Islam. If Islam were to approach life with the same openness of, let's say, Zen Buddhism -- where people were open to doubting everything, including their religious beliefs, and to enter into open, loving, and honest discussion with others -- people would be attracted to it. If people saw Muslims protesting in large numbers every time an Islamic terrorist performed an act of violence in the name of Islam, people would think differently. Focus on what you can do better and the rest will follow. Good luck!

Christians and Jews are not scared of Islam, wonder what gave you that idea.
Do you think you can get to heaven based on the good things that you do and just to honour, respect and obey God? It is only through the grace of God that you can enter heaven and also one other thing...(go and find out).

Becuase every westeren media and government paint muslims with a bad brush.
People like to quote awful things that muslims have done or so-called islamic terrorists, but they don't count all the things that white westerners from christian backgrounds have done. The history of western nations both over the centuries and recently has been just as bad or worse.

With all respect, I see many flaws in your statement. Most likely they are due to lack on your knowledge about your own religion. Do not be very upset about this because fortunately most Muslims do not know the exact history of their religion. Try to read more about Islamic wars, prophet Muhammad's wars, Badr battle, Banu Korayza, Banu Nadir, Banu Koyanka'a, Khalid Ibn Al Waleed, Asmaa Bint Marwan, Om Karfa, Abu Afk.
Too many to mention!

blame the media
the media has more power than your government has and it can easily change peoples opinions and way of thinking.
the media and the government work together, and so the media scares the people and so in fear the people give the power to the government.
eg, Iraq. bush and the media constantly told you that Saddam has got WMDs and was prepared to use them and how he can have a nuclear missile hit the US in 45 min's or how ever long it was he said but it turned out to be lies.
but my point is that he told you lies to scare you so you would let them go without any problems.
it is the same principle and method they are using against Islam.
that is why they are constantly bombarding you with negative views on Islam.
that is why you are so scared of Islam.

I don't know why you would single out Christians and Jews as being particularly scared of Islam. I think most non-Muslims have a particular uneasiness about Islam, even in their ignorance about what Islam is about and what it really teaches. Personally I am not afraid of Islam. I have examined its history and teachings for myself and have found it wanting. But I am concerned and fearful of what Islam can do to its followers, especially those followers who want to practice true Islam the way Muhammad and those with him did.

First of all you should separate Muslims and terrorists. Islam is religion of love, respect and good behavior, so real Muslim should be good people and harmless. But terrorists are people who use Islam for they one causes and that people didn't even read a Kur'an, so they knows very little about Islam!
Even Christian use Bible and Church for they one causes ( Inquisition ) and I hope you think that was also wrong!
