I'm with you. The thing is, however, that we can't change each others' minds. Kudos to all 'religious' people who can take their blinders off and see the big picture. And yes, many many people need faith in something in order to make sense of this crazy world. But the fact is that this 'tunnel vision' you speak of has caused a lot of problems. Anytime you have organization, whether it's of class, or religion, or race, you have a struggle for POWER. The lust for power is the enemy. Organized religion is just one vehicle for this. I'm with you - let's park the vehicle...but good luck walking....

Why would you conclude that the existence of God cannot be proven one way or another? I reckoned that you consider Christianity as just another religious belief, perhaps devoid of any truth value, but having pragmatic value to give comfort or security. You probably also think that the proper place for religion is in fiction land, and we are better off keeping it in private sphere. Well, I disagree on all counts! You talked about the big picture, what is that? That we are insignificant beings on a vast universe in a speck of time across allegedly billions of years? That's your big picture? Again I disagree. I urge you to give Christianity another good look and examine its history and teachings, and most important, Jesus Christ.

There are plenty of non-religious people who can admit there is no evidence to rule out the existence of a diety, despite their personal belief to the contrary.
But you won't find many religious individuals who are willing to admit there is no evidence for the existence of a diety, thus creating the potential there may not be a diety.

I would rather have a penny from the hand of my FATHER than all the treasures of the world.
Nothing can change that.

Your logic, as per usual, is flawed, KrispyLooneyCheddar.
You should think much more thoroughly than you do.
God has a plan and I like his ideas better than yours.
