if a cops wage is payed by the tax payers and acop himself pays taxes does that mean he is paying his own wage???

Yes we do pay taxes. Whenever somebody makes a statement about the car running wasting tax payers dollars, I have to remind them that I pay taxes too! Great question finally somebody who thinks outside of the box and can see the other side!

Not only do LEOs pay taxes, alot of them have to supply much of their own gear. (usually small rural departments)

So, I wonder, if they pay taxes and in doing such are paying their own wages, are they self employed?

in many states when you are a municipal employee (work for the city) you do not pay city taxes
