Is it very busy on the last weekend or how about the weekend before the last, would that be better to go then?

Went to Alton Towers on the first weekend AFTER it closed--it was NOT busy!

Alton Towers is always busy. If good weather is important to you (it's not so much fun in the rain), then go on a weekend when the forecast is good, and don't worry about how busy it may be.
I would recommend paying the extra for the 'fast pass' thing. Not only does it save you a lot of time, but it's a great feeling just strolling past all the people in the normal queues!

i was told by a member of staff that at any time of year. the best day to go was a saturday cuz tis not as busy.
