I have many health issues to discuss and talk about. I'm afraid to go to the doctor because every time I visit him, he always wants to do a pap smear, and those things hurt! Those are only supposed to be assesed once a year, but he doesn't even care if he saw me a week ago, he still INSISTS on doing a pap smear-even if I go there for the flu.

I'm very afraid of the pap smear issue, and I'm also afraid to go because I'm very overweight, & I really need to take the test to see if I'm diabetic or not, but I'm just too afraid. I hope I'm not diabetic.

How can I overcome this fear and be strong and just GO?

Definately change doctors! There is no reason why he needs to do a Pap smear every time you see him. What the hell does a pap smear have to do with diabetes? Go to a doctor that specializes in the field of diabetes if you can find one.
You can be in danger while he's up there doing pap smears!
Do you know your blood sugar levels?
Go to a doctor that cares. Trust me there are some good ones out there, and you dont have to settle for less than the BEST. Keep your head up and handle your business! Live a looong life!
Staying alive and respecting your body is reason enough to be strong girlfriend. Good Luck! :)

You really shouldnt do paps so often. If saying NO wouldnt work, like others say, you must change your doctor. I mean, you dont need to tell this pap doc that u r going to see another one.

You dont need to overcome the fear and be strong to go to this doctor because what he is doing is not right! I dont know what his obsession is!!! If he has seen something in a test - he should have told you that. As he dont ask you to come regularly for any medication - it has to be something else. So better say 'bye' to this doc.

You can just do it on your own - go and say that you need to be checked for diabetic. You have to fast for 14 hours to do a fasting blood test.

Once you get the tests, when you are going to see the doctor (the new doctor I mean) - take your lastest pap test reports also. If there is something, I am sure you will get to know!

Good luck!

Switch doctors or just decline to have the pap smear.

Go see a new doctor. No doctor can force you to have any test you do not wish to have by the way. You could even take it a step further and report your doctor for malpractice.
