you mean the ignition keys to the plane? just kidding. Yeah, I have seen delays for sillier things than that (some members of a tour group were lost in the duty free shops and we all had to wait for them)

Well,no, it' not possible...as pilots don't use key to open the airplane, the mechanic-ingeneer closes and seals the airplane.
There were cases when the delay reason was that the hostess didn't know she was supposed to fly that particular flight and they all had to wait for her.
The key is sure not a reason to delay a flight!!!

I think some delays happen because the pilot is drunk and they are witing for him to sober up

Thats a scary thought. I hope pilots aren't that stupid, since they are suppose to keep us from plumeting to our deaths! LOL
