Grass is an important part of a dogs diet and is very neccesary. Sometimes dogs will eat an excess of grass to make themselves sick, but in general the small quantity consumed by dogs is a neccesary part of their diet. I'm not sure what vitamins the grass has but my vet assures me its very normal.

DO NOT WORRY! ALL DOGS AT SOME POINT EAT GRASS THEY ARE NOT LACKING IN ANYTHING. IT IF TAKEN IN LARE QUANTITIES MAKES A DOG VOMIT, YOU`LL OFTEN HEAR THEIR TUMMY RUMBLING AFTERWARDS, I HAVE A BORDER COLLIE WHO REGULARY RUNS WITH ANOTHER BORDER COLLIE AND THEIR ALWAYS HAVING A MUNCH ESPECIALLY AFTER RAIN I BELIEVE IT AIDS DIGESTION IF YOUR DOG IS OTHERWISE HEALTHY DONT WORRY THE MOST YOU WOULD EVER NEED TO DO IS PULL IT FROM THEIR BACK END IF ITS A LONG PIECE AND THEIR HAVING DIFFICULTY IN PASSING IT, POO BAGS DO COME IN HANDY EH!

some say that they do this because they are ill or because they have ... headaches but personally I've seen my dog doing this many times when he had a stomach problem. there's also something concerning the change of the moon.
