have a non-aggressive, open-minded discussion if a Christian wanted to ask you questions? (As long as the Christian agreed to listen carefully to all of your points as well?) If so, where and how could one hold this conversation?

Can't be done on this forum. JT's answer is a great example of why.

Superfluous

Read Whitehead, Russell and Freud
Then Spinoza, Kierkegaard and Nietzsche and Heidegger
Then Sarte, Rilke and Jaspers

The go back to the Greeks especially Plotinus

Then ask for an open-minded discussion and conversation

only this..any mention of the bible necessitates that you be open minded enough to accept different bibical exegetical hermaneutics than yours
Read Bultmann

After that....pose your questions....arrange your conversations

there are any numbers of us "atheists" to "talk" with

FYI.....I could be a deist without being a theist

The only way an open-minded discussion can occur is if two people come open-handed and without any attachment to beliefs. If a person forgets about concepts, beliefs, and sees only the other person -- and loves that person -- then there can be open dialogue. Empty one's hands and mind and forget about teaching, preaching, proving, etc. -- just talk and be open to all possibilities, including that one is wrong about their own beliefs. Note that this goes for both sides.

Being an atheist, I'd be willing to hold a theological debate, I'm open minded. Said christian can e-mail me if he/she likes.

You can read the questions I've already asked and answers given.

There is nothing to discuss. The underlying assumption is flawed which renders any further discussion to be pointless.

JT's answer is the result of responding to such offers in the past and discovering the "discussion" is more preaching than discussion.

But, if my fellow atheists want their inbox filled with religious tracts and sermons, that's their decision. Since God does not exist, the very first question to be answered relates to the "believers'" proof that his "God" exists in the first place.

And, if he has no such proof, what is there to discuss? His "beliefs" are obviously not subject to rational or logical discussion, so it would be pointless to engage in any such discussion.
