adolescents have sex, that both should be charged with the crime? Most often, if charges are filed by the authorities, the adolescent male is the one charged. Shouldn't parents be allowed to use this law to enforce their rules that their children should not be having sex?

What everone needs to do, is marry whoever they're doing something with, then it's legal. In california, a girl can marry at any age, in massachusetts and I think mississippi or alabama the lowest age for girls to marry is 12. There are other states that have 14. So if I were going to marry a young girl or boy, I'd move to that state, and then I'd marry whoever I wanted.
This country is literally in a witch hunt.
Jerry Seinfeld dated a girl of 17 years old, he's looked up to
Another guy does the same thing and he is persecuted and called a pedophile
Elvis Presley (as in the so called King of Rock and Roll) met priscilla when she was 15 and he was of legal age. He is a role model. Another guy do the same thing, a lot of people say he need to be shot.
It depends on WHO you are in this country. And last time I looked, the Constitution and Bill of Rights says nothing about things like depending on who you are.
Sally Mann took pictures of her children NAKED and they were posted in upscale galleries around the world. She is considered an artist, another woman took pictures of her kids in a bath tub, she is busted for child porn and labled a pedophile.
Its called a DOUBLE STANDARD.
adolescents are having sex like crazy because it's rammed down their throats every day at school and on the computer, and on tv and in movies, and in magazines.
No they should not be charged with crimes.

No it shouldn't. The statutory rape law is bullshit. When i was 15 i actively pursued much older men and i pretended to be of age. These men weren't to know that i wasn't as old as i said so how can they be to blame.
I know you all want to protect your children from the dangers of sex, but a word of advise, the more you say 'no' the more they want to try it out.
Teenagers have been having underage sex since civilisation began, there should not be a law that says two mature young people cannot make that decision, otherwise all teenagers will end up in trouble with the law coz the sex wont stop they'll just keep doing it until they're caught.

I believe, that it takes, two, to have sex. First, their needs to be a age law of consent, (I thought it was 17), but there needs to be something that protects the males, rights as much as the female. Our government is based on equal rights, but how can we calll our self equal, if only one is disciplined....

well i think well in FL you have to be 15 in order to consent to sex and that is stupid.. but i do not mean that 15 is old enought to have sex... but i'm a teen mother and i got preg at 15 and the father of my son was 18. but before i got preg i slept with a guy and well i got caught...lol and he was 27.... and i was 14... and i consented to it... * he didn't get charged with raping me..but he did get thrown in jail for other charges..* my deal is if the teen girl says that she consented to the sex.. then why would he get in trouble for it.. he shouldnt' be the only one punished.. they both should... just cause the guy is older... big deal... when i got caught i was on top of him.. and i really want to no how that was concdered rape.... cause they tryed charging him for it.. but i told the popos... the same thing how in the hell is it rape when i was on him... i mean come on.. does any one get what i'm saying...lol.. it makes no sence.. but yes they should both get in trouble not just the guy that is nutz he didn't do it on his own it takes 2 to tango..

i think the state should have nothing to do with it if its consentual, the law should interfer in the bedroom unless there is a victim such as rape..
people should otherwise be allowed and be free to have sex with who and when they please and face the consequences of it..

I LIVE IN CT. AND WE HAVE A CONSENT LAW. YOU HAVE TO BE 16YR. TO CONSENT . BUT THERE IS A CLAUSE IN THAT LAW AS WITH EVERY OTHER LAW, 16YR. TO CONSENT TO SEXUAL INTERCOURSE W/ SOMEONE NO MORE THAN 4 YR. OLDER THAN YOU. CRAZY!!! LOTS OF GUYS AND GIRLS LIE ABOUT THEIR AGE ANYWAYS.
