There was a 20-cent coin minted in the US in 1875-1876, but it was taken out of circulation. Add that to a dime and you have 30 cents

one is a nickel and one isn't so it would be a 25 cent piece and the other nickel

I would say a quarter and a nickel.. You only said one of them is not a nickel.

If this isn't right I would say a 29 cent piece and a penny.
