Weight lifting or Cardio or both?

Wights only, could be a while, up to a month or more

Cardio only, should be really fast, a week or so

Both, well you could guess.

Ah screw weight go for body fat percentage. Only use the scale for a long term reference but believe it or not use it every day and keep a diary. Weight can fluctuate quite a bit day to day, so it takes a lot of weighings over a long period of time for a scale to be relevant.

What you don't want to do, is weigh your self every time you finish working out. I see people do this a lot and I would think that it hurts your mind set of what your goal is of loosing weight. So I would diet and work out, and at the beginning of the week weigh your self and then at the end of the week weigh your self. Just to see how much your loosing or gaining.

how good is your diet going? you should not be gaining weight on the scale and your exercising should make you lose weight unless the fat is turning into mucsle which is not good re-examing what you are doing and compare it to what youare doing now and check the results
