First, the Catholic church has priests rather than preachers.

1 Timothy 2:11-12: “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.”

1 Cor. 14:34-35 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."

While I believe the second one is extremely outdated, the first one is as well. Still, if you choose to follow the Bible then it isn't supposed to be a cafeteria. You can't pick and choose what you like. I pick and choose and I'll admit I'm not up to standards. Women can still be laypeople. My RCIA instructor was a woman as was my sponsor.

specal k,
The Bible does support the relieving of women of that duty by a man. It has something to do with the relationship set up by God, and the heirarchy of how a church is to be set up. I believe that Paul ws speaking according to his traditions when he wrote:
1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

If a woman is the best teacher/pastor available for whatever reason, she is to be given respect as to her station and position. I find that God works that way throughout the Bible. He makes exceptions for things. He's not subject to His rules. As Moses was at the mount of Transfiguration, and as David ate the showbread, God makes exceptions.

But there is another story to tell about the Roman Catholic Church. They have the unfortunate traditions of Paganism that existed in it before it became Christian. No women priests were one of those traditions. There was however, much to their embarrassment, a woman Pope. She became pregnant and hid the fact. She fell ill and had a child in front of many if I remember right.

I should think that since Jesus came as a man, that would be enough, but I will provide you with more details:

"As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says.(1 Cor 14:33)

That is enough, dontchathink?
Though this scripture is rather harsh, it is scripture, and it is about the church, past and present. Oh, and of course women have souls! I hope your joking. The Catholic church respects women - look at it's devotion to Mother Mary!

Eve sinned first. She lead Adam into temptation. That caused all women thereafter to be followers, not leaders. She ruined it for us. Women are also emotional in nature which does not make for a good preacher. I'm a woman and I am sure glad there aren't any "real" women preists in the Catholic faith.

because it has always been a patriarchal society ... women are hardly mentioned in the bible because they were not considered "worthy" of mention... no man would listen to what a woman would say, that was considered absurd. also since these were considered positions of power/influence there's no way a woman would be allowed to do it... its completely sexist, but religious people will tell you some crap about how Jesus was a man so only men can be preachers... trust me, religion is for the fool-hearted anyways

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry.

The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible.

With love in Christ.

the bible says that a women must stay quiet in a church and shall not teach men but that was the old church god used women to go and preach his word so a women can preach but it is abmonation for a women to be a pastor priest or any of them because they can not be head of a man but a women can preach the word the same way a man can maybe even better but they have to submit to men and men to christ

I dont remember where but I do remember somewhere in the bible it said women should only teach when the students are young. I think men teach older people better anyway.

Because they would be unable to lie , and they would blow the whole grift....and the pope would have to buy his hats with money that he had to WORK for and that would make GOD angry...you don't want to make GOD angry mr. mcgee...HAHAHA.I think it really goes back to the "can't trust anything that bleeds for a week and wont die thing" No good reason really other than control....but that's just my opinion.
