I'm 16 and she's 14. I've made out with her before, but we wouldnt do anything else. My best friend is really protective of her. Their dad left a few years ago and now he acts like the father and is really really protective. He caught us kissing once and he freaked, cursing and telling me to stay away from his sister. She explained something to him to get him to calm down and he's alright now. I really, really like this girl. Whta do i do?

be careful - you dont want to lose your friendship. talking to your friend about the issue would probably be the best approach, rather than hiding it from him. because he will find out sooner or later. communication is the key, so you need to talk to your friend. if he doesnt understand or isnt ready to let you be with his sister, there is always time.

first figure out if she likes u the same. if she does, ask her to talk to her brother about how she feels about you. then U talk to him about it. he is only trying to protect his baby sister b/c she doesn't have a father to do that for her. he doesn't want her to get hurt and he especially doesn't want her to get hurt by u. explain to him that u r his best friend and would never do anything to hurt his sister or jeporadize the relationship between u and him. make sure he knows how much u care about her. i think that he will find it very assuring that u risked ur friendship with him and worked up the courage by asking his permission to be with his siter and i'm sure she will be very flattered at ur commitment.
