Technically, you do qualify as God. Every human being is like God.
As theorized by Carl Jung's Collective Unconscious, the Electromagnetic Field surrounding the Planet links everyone's minds as Planet-Sized Brain Cells the same way the Electrical Field in the Human Mind unites all the individual brain cells that create your consciousness.
Your individual brain cells do whatever you say (to a point) and so they are technically worshipping you. So you can enjoy Godhood in whatever reality you choose to fashion for yourself.
People always wonder what it's like to be God when all they really need to do is just look at themselves. Just as they find their own lives mediocre or boring, Godhood on a Planetary Scale is just as boring.
When you go online, you can set up Software Programs that will create Virtual Reality where your Game Character or Administrative Alias has "God Powers." Software Programs can even be written to give you the title of "God" for your Game Character (which is conceited but still true in that Virtual Reality).
Godhood is really just about being granted permissions and having access to power that other people don't normally have.
However, just like any toy, you can get bored with those commands after a while. You sit around and play with them for a couple weeks or months and then you just forget about them.
Fame and Prestige is the same way when it comes to Power and Influence. Some people manage their Fame badly and use it as a weapon. Others are so obsessed with Fame and Power and let it consume them.
The people who do well with Power are those who are level-headed and the ones who need to exercise it least. The best rulers and people in power are those who have it, but don't need to rely on it or use it all the time.

okay that's just funny.
You can ask if people will worship you, that's not a problem and yes some may be afraid and offended by it. However it is a free country, sort of, and you can be god if you'd like to be. I don't suggest it though. I tried it for about 34 years and things went horribly wrong in my world. Now that I let a Power Greater than myself handle all my business - things have been going much smoother. Not perfect - we are not saints - but much smoother.

Well you can't be God. That's already taken. But I'm sure you could probably find some lonely people with low self esteem, looking for something to make a difference in their lives to convince that you are the answer. Can you say Jim Jones or David Koresh?

Hello... you can ask people to worship you but you will not be offending the fundies but you will offend God and that is a dangerous place to be, besides it says in the bible that there will be false christs you would be involved in fulfilling prophecy... thanx for the question....

You can't be God because you had to ask that question on the Yahoo question/answer thingy. It also wouldn't hurt if you could turn water into wine. Then you'd be popular at parties.

That type of thinking is what got ST. LUCIFER in deep trouble with the CREATOR and he is cooling his heels along with the rest of the Angls that followed him in the rebellion. Waiting for the day of Judgement.

Whether or not it's actually possible, there is nothing legally preventing you from declaring yourself God or asking people to worship you (as long as you are not intruding into their privacy, also known as harassment).

You CAN'T be God, but you already know that. Sorry. You can ask people to worship you, but you already know that.
Pride causes people to think they're more clever than they actually are. Good luck my friend. God bless you.
