It's St.Peter's Cross.

He didn't believe he was worthy to be Crusified as Christ was, so he requested they crusify him upside down.

The cross by itself is only a symbol and there are many kinds of crosses unrelated to religion. They are simply a powerful symbol as is the gammedion or the swastika (the gammedion is a Buddhist sign and turns leftwards, a swastika turns to the right). The square cross has equal arms (so how would you know it was upside down?) By the Catholic belief, an upside down cross is a denial of Christ or a sign of evil.

An upside cross today is commonly associated with Satanism, symbolizing the rejection of Christ. In Roman Catholicism, the upside down cross is known as St. Peter's cross, because of a story in the Bible: Peter was going to be crucified by the Romans for preaching Jesus' message, but Peter requested to be crucified upside down, because Peter felt that he didn't feel worth to be crucified the same way as his lord (Peter had denied knowing Christ three times after Jesus' arrest). It is one of the symbols of the Pope, who Catholics believe is the succesor of St. Peter as the leader of Christians.

The reversed cross, also known as the cross of St. Peter, has also been used as an emblem of Satanism, although more often by non-satanists than believers. Historically, it has been a symbol of humility, a symbol of Martyred St. Peter's refusal to be crucified in the manner of Christ, preferring to be hung upside down.

Today, the symbol of an upturned cross may symbolize an opposition to Christian dogma, a concept borrowed from Christian writers who mistook the emblem of Peter for an anti-Christian symbol- a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy!

The inverted cross is also an esoteric symbol of reversal, and is related to the 12th key of the tarot, the hanged man.

It symbolizes mockery and rejection of Jesus.

It's merely an upside down cross... nothing more, nothing less. Superstition and misplaced faith may cause some to be afraid of it and say it means the devil or something but because there is no way to prove that the devil or even god exist, it's a meaningless symbol.

Its called....an upside down cross.

Its one of many anti-christ symbols. Even the so-called "Peace" symbol of the 1960s is actually an inverted and broken cross with satanic origins.

Either way it will still be a cross and to me there is no meaning to it, unless of course someone wants to give it a name.

SweetGirl666,
In hillbilly speech it might be said, " It don't mean nothin'."

Peter, the one who was with Jesus, was crucified upside down because he thought that he was not worthy to be crucified the same way as his Lord.

It isn't anything other than that. It only has the power to persuade some that might think it something other than that.

I DON'T RECALL THE NAME FOR IT, BUT IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, IT IS USED TO MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF THE INITIAL CRUCIFIX. YOU SEE IT IN THE MOVIE "THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE" AND ALSO IN THE MODERN "AMITYVILLE HORROR." I'VE ALSO READ ABOUT THE USE OF UPSIDE DOWN CROSSES IN INCANTATIONS. (YOU MAY WANT TO READ "PREPARE FOR WAR" AND "HE CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVES FREE" BY REBECCA BROWN, MD) BOTH OF THOSE BOOKS GO INTO GREAT DETAIL AND MAY HELP YOU TO UNDERSTAND IT FURTHER. I HOPE THIS HELPS.
