For the same reason Israel does not give citizenship to "Jews" who convert to another religion.
Israel is not a democracy, it is a theocratic, fascist state with strong communist characteristics (no private ownership of real property).
Yes, TammiDee, it is true. Proselytizing is illegal in Israel.

I am a Christian, I lived in Israel for five years. I had no trouble living there, and I had no trouble preaching the gospel to my Jewish friends. There are many more Christians in Israel than you can imagine -- JEWISH Christians, Jews who were born there and learned that Jesus is the Messiah while living there. There are far too many to count. There are also Christian Jews from all over the world living in Israel and doing so openly. There are also numerous Christian churches of many diverse denominations also functioning and bearing fruit and doing so openly. So, from the beginning, your information is simply wrong and you plainly have no idea what you're talking about.
Now, as for "infidel Jews," you also have a problem. Aside from the fact that Jesus is a Jew and the Jews are the cultivated olive tree and we as Christian gentiles referred to in the bible as the branch of the wild olive tree being grafted in, you also have the issue of God speaking specifically about Jews, "those who bless you I will bless and those who curse you I will curse." Your comment -- aside from using the word "infidel" which is taken from the Koran, is a curse upon the Jews.
You are a confused person who likes to make noise and talk trash about things you do not understand. Your information is incorrect, you are ignorant and your mouth is foul and anything but an example of Christ living in you. If my words do not cut you to the core -- if you do not sit openly accused and ashamed at this rebuke, you also need to wonder where the Holy Spirit is in your life, why He is not convicting you when you are found wrong by the word of God. One obvious answer might be that you yourself are not even saved. I cannot know if that is the case, but you might take the time to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, because one thing is sure, on this topic, you are far, far, far from God -- a God who was a God of the Jews long before He allowed a gentile infidel like any of us to ever even hear of Him.
Yes, praise the Lord -- and be sure you don't curse His people.
Soldier of God? Yeah, right. Maybe you should study a bit.

The Jews( the Jewish religion is the foundation for the Christian Church(OLD TESTAMENT))like the Muslims and the Islams do not what us to tell them which teachings to follow.
The Jews are still waiting for their Messiah to appear. And all three have it in there religious books that their Idea of GOD has promised the whole land of the Middle East to them alone.
The crusades to capture Jerusalem for the Christians still does dot set well with them. Jeruslem is a Holy city for all three religions.

Jews are not infidels - they are still God's chosen people. He chose them knowing that as a nation they would reject His Son, which would open the door for all other nations (who weren't even seeking God) to receive Christ. When the fullness of the Gentiles (anyone who is not a Jew) comes in, then the Scriptures say that all Israel will be saved. (Romans 9-11)
Jews are an integral part of God's plan for salvation. In truth, Jesus said salvation is of the Jews. And the Bible teaches that those who curse them will be cursed, and those who bless them will be blessed.
You are to pray for them, as for all men....not condemn them.
The wrath of man does not promote the righteousness of God - and I sense alot of prejudice, hatred and wrath in your question. If you are really interested in promoting the Gospel, then you should examine your motives. Otherwise, you can chalk up the infidel comment to simple hate-filled rhetoric.

Brother be careful how you address the chosen people of GOD. through abraham the Children of Israel became God's chosen people Gen. 12:3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. The plan for the world's redemption came from these people. Although there are Jews who reject the message of alvation ultimately it is God who will judge the godly and the ungodly in the end.

Where did you get that? Jerusalem consists of the Muslim Quarter, Jewish Quarter, Armenian Quarter, and the Christian Quarter.
There are many Christian landmarks visited by Christian pilgrims, Christian Churches such as the Church of the Nativity, Church of the Holy Seplechre, and so on.
To talk about Christianity is not illegal, however, good judgement might dictate to who and where you witness, since the population is so diverse.
P.S. Addition: Thanks so much for the moral boost with the MORON comment. You are the one who makes the Anti-Christians reel with laughter at us stupid Christians.
If you're telling us to research your question...but you apparently already have...why are we all here wasting all of our time? To make you look intelligent? It didn't work.

Two words.....
ANGER MANAGEMENT.
You're gonna blow a gasket soon at the rate you're going with with your questions. I see that you are new, but coming here and ranting serves no purpose, unless you get off on making people think you're a nut case.
To answer your question...it is what it is, Israel can make their own rules. I can more about what is going on in this country and I would rather see the missionaries do more of their work here.
Priorities....should be in order.

First of all, please don't blanket castigate God's beloved people by calling them infidels, you're treading on dangerous territory there, my friend. Secondly, I have no knowledge of it being illegal to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ anywhere in Israel. I don't know where you got that information. Israel is a very civil rights-friendly nation. That little nation is a beacon of liberty, power, and God's love, surrounded by power-hungry nations consumed with hatred and idolatry.

for three reasons.
a) because the point of israel is to protect judaism as a religion, because judaism is all but nonexistent in terms of population
b) because jews already have the word of god
c) its against jewish ethics to preach, and if christians were more moral then it would be against christian ethics to preach as well
EDIT
"Israel does not give citizenship to "Jews" who convert to another religion."
this is not even true, jews who convert to another religion cannot emigrate to israel AS JEWS, but they are allowed to emigrate to israel as non-jews
the difference is because jews are automatically given israeli citizenship for their security because a huge amount of jewish emigrants to israel go there fleeing from persecution and need an immediate home
nonjews who emigrate to israel tend not to be fleeing their from persecution, and so they attain citizenship in the same way they would in other countries, by living there and then applying
