i say keep it natural - dyed hair always looks fake and dries out a lot... but if you must highlight, just do something subtle - dramatic chunks and shocking contrasts look really trashy.

Go to your stylist first and have your stylist do you hair the first time. It may be pricey but it's the safest way to go. You can also try the at home highlighting kits available at drugstores, Wal*Mart, Target, etc. Most of them include a cap, hook, instructions, everything you need. I would just be hesistant to do it at home the first time. Talk to your stylist. See if your stylists thinks you should have it foiled or pulled through a cap. A professional will also know which shades will be most flattering to your skin tone and base hair color. Good Luck!

Go with natural highlights, such as, what you would get if you were out in the sun. About 1or 2 shades lighter than your natural color would be nice. Hope this helps you out.

it depends on what your natural haircolor is..if u hav dark hair well then do a light brown or blonde but if u hav light hair colored hair then do a darker color to uplift your lighter hair.I would not prefer bleach/or blonde to highlight your hair as it dries it out and makes it look horrible like mine..i had dark brown hair and highlighted it blonde in november and now it is august and the blond is stil not out even after the permanent hair color:(:((
