does anyone like Poached Pears ?

love em.
poached in a good Marchelle Foch with maple syrup and orange juice Cinnamon stick and vanilla bean then served with a real vanilla custard

I am pretty sure many people like poached pears. Why? Because thousands of recipes for poached pears abound in cook books, specialty magazines, cooking shows and talk shows that feature chefs.
If poached pears were not popular, why would these recipes exist?
Most poach pear recipes I come acrosss use wine, cognac, or some other alcoholic beverage as poaching liquid.
I myself like them. Sometimes I slice them over ice cream or egg/lmon pies, even on custards.

I don't like them at all. One of the few foods I don't enojy.
