On the Islamic calendar this date will be the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427, the commemoration of Muhammad's "night journey".
The Shiite belief is that by throwing the world into destructive chaos, the "13th Imam" will come, who is basically the Muslim messiah.
Iran's lunatic president Ahmadinejad has made several references to this date.

Biblical, no I don't think so, but only the Father in Heaven knows when, The Bible says it will be when we least expect it, when we think there is peace. There are other things said in the Bible that must take first.
I am sure that the President in Iran will make a go at it anyway, but he is not the author of time, God is. The Iranian President believes that the 12th Imam is the Messiah to come, and according to him, he is trying to usher in the end times circumstances to make his messiah come to earth. Again, he can not do that, only God can do this in his time and for his will. They will try though.

no, armageddon definitely would not start with iran attacking israel .... there are too many things that have to happen before that ... one thing is for certain, iran is begging israel to nuke THEM as i seriously doubt iran could nuke israel successfully, but an attack on israel by iran or syria is a reasonable possibility maybe and that would most certainly be the end of mister big mouth over there.

I have read those articles also and am convinced soemthing will happen on 8/22. The research is there and the president of Iran is NOT disputing it.

Look, Jesus said that nobody knows when the end of the world would be - but that when it happened, everyone would know what it was. So the best thing to do is to live each day as though tomorrow would be the end of the world. Oh, and by the way, Jesus said that there would be many false prophets who would say that Jesus was coming on a certain day, or that he had pr would return in secret. When Jesus returns, all will know it is him. So don't fret, okay?

Why should I care? Is there anything that I can do to stop this if they are going to do anything on that date? Do you think you will scare me into accepting your version of Jesus or God as opposed to my relying on my beliefs? We are heading into some rough times, that is true, that we all can see. However, it will not be the end of time. Okay? And if it is, what of it, should the world come to an end, I will be with my God and Goddess supping with them in the place of rest.

NO! They may do something on that date, but it is not Armageddon or the end yet.. There may be a short nuclear war before the Armageddon.
