Well, first of all, thank you for asking all us strangers about this.
I guess you're in a good position to tell them. If you been smokin for that long, then it's about time to give it to em and hopefully they can help you quit (for yur health - they really pack those things with S*%#) and yur about 18, so you should be shouldering some of your own decisions.

And if you're gona tell them, do it with style - walk out into the living room and belt out a lungful of smoke, or walk in with about 17 cigarettes crammed into yur mouth! (and do it in private.)

I use to think I was being sneaky with smoking. I would wash my hands after a smoke and put on perfume. My mom knew. If your parents aren't smokers and sometimes even if they are, they can smell it on you. So it really is just best to come out with the truth and tell them. Thats probably what they are waiting for. So I say go for it and let them know. You are almost an adult now so it will most likely be a calm subject.

Duh! They probably already know you smoke, as they can smell it on your clothes and breath!
You should really not smoke......... Here's a challenge, name an organ of the body that does not have a cancer derived directly from smoking? Answer there isnt one!
Also if I gave you a six shooter gun and put a bullet in it and asked you to play russian roulette, would you? Well with smoking each time you take a drag your playing with 3 or 4 barrels full, only thing is the bullet takes 40 odd years to kill you?
Am I getting there?
OK!
Its easier to stop smoking now, than it will be in 5 or 6 years!
Its your body but dont be stupid? The answer is stop smoking !

Mmmmm tough question. I've been smoking since I was 15 I am know 27.... My parents at first did not know. But one day I started smoking in front of them (i was drunk) I told them "yeah I am smoking so what... you smoke dad" My mom hates cigarettes... so I just smoke outside or when I am parting. You just have to know what you're parents think about that habit. An advice STOP SMOKING!!!! It gets harder ever time.... plus it is harder when you are thinking of having kids.

i began even as i grow to be 16, yet did not tell mine till i grow to be 18. I figured what might want to they do then? It grow to be person-friendly to conceal. I did my personal laundry, and my father smoked 3 packs an afternoon, so it grow to be person-friendly to conceal the scent of my smoke. typically i'd say, tell them. you're 17 inspite of the undeniable fact that, merely wait yet another 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. you may want to be an individual then. Worse they could say is, no smoking in the abode. except you're guilt is getting to you, merely come out and say it then.

as an ex-smoker myself in this situation I can honestly say that it is best to quit smoking, I wish I had quit sooner, but I was weak and thought I enjoyed cigarettes and thought I would never give up. But my health, skin, hair etc are so much better now I have quit, I smoked 20 a day for 8 years. Smoking ages your skin, as you started so young you have probably already damaged your skin, but give up now and you still have time for your body to repair itself without you looking like a wrinkled old boot.

i think you should do what you think is best personally i told my parents when i was 13 also started when i was 12 but my mom was pissed and made me smoke outside in the middle of winter until she thought it was way too cold outside then she was cool with it and then at my dads house he was okay with it........i had pretty easy going parents though so i dunno do what you think is a good idea you may just want to wait a few more months then tell them cuz then they cant do anything about it especially if they are really protective

well if you are turning 18 soon then i would tell them when you are 18. but i would probably stretch the truth about when you started. but oh man 12 is young to smoke.....
and try blaming it on other people ex. peer pressure or w/e also QUIT

to be honest they probably already know you smoke. Especially if they do not. You cant hide the smell of cigarette smoke no matter how hard you try. btw stop now while it is still relatively easy. I have smoked for 25 years now and wish to god i never started.
