CPCTC,
I find that rational thinking is the exception of those in Islam. They seem to be irrational in their world view. But I am not surprised because they have a religion that lies about God. And they believe it. And they seem to agree that people who say what I just wrote should be beheaded. They are clearly sick.

if there's such a thing as a rational Christian capable of critical analysis of Christianity I suppose a similar Muslim counterpart can be found in Islam.

I haven't encountered either one yet but hope springs eternal.

of course there is. ever heard of washington post columnist fareed zakaria? ever watch the daily show? ever been to college?!?!? closed-minded bigots like you are giving the rest of us (free thinking, peace-loving, patriotic, tolerant americans) a bad name all around the world.

go read a book or something.

ps: it's an honor to be called such names by someone like you. you're just proving my point.

every religion has both rational and irrational followers. most islamic people are just regular people trying to live their lives like the rest of us. the problem is that the ones that we in america hear the most about are the most irrational of the bunch. every religion has zealots, even christianity.

This is not the way to preach by example or by words. Sorry to be bashing people, but Saint Francis would not approve.

Mine is also no. If you believe in a faith, you should not critically analyze it no matter what.

if you believe that Jesus is Son of God for example, and you analyze that, you become non-christian. Therefore, you are right about your 'no' answer

That is like asking if Pat Robertson has a brain.

Absolutely not!

But then, there is no rational Christian or Jew either. These Abrahamic religions have no reason in them anywhere at all. They are emotional, faith-based mumbo-jumbo, and do not suffer reason in any way, shape or form.
