Pro - when they are spayed no temper tantrums and no spraying like males. I find them more loveable too, put thats personal preference.

Well, i have had ALOT of catsi n my life, and 6 have been female. And i would never ever ever ever get a female cat. I have 4 boys,1 feral male that lives outside too (he adopted us tho lol) I volunteer at a cat shelter (have for 2 years now) and those females... ugh. Even tho they are spayed they still have 'heat' moments, and they yowl, sometimes go on pissing rants, and will try to run outside if they get a WHIFF of a male. I personally dont like females because of that and that they are alot more needy and annoyance of cat ownership. Every male ive had, and come in contact with have been the most wonderful cats. Once males get nuetered, they are just the most wonderful cats. I totally lost my train of thought here, but if you want an enjoyable cat ownership time, get a male. The whole spraying and whatever thing ends when they are nuetered, dont care what any one says. Ive never had a nuetered cat thats sprayed and ive never known one to start. The feral I have outside is a fixed male (i know this becuz hes come thru the shelter to get fixed and released) and he's 'friends' with my 4 boys inside, and he doesnt even spray the yard.

Pro: They tend to be more loyal to you (but usually just one person, where a male tends to love everyone).
Pro: No spraying.
Pro: Less urinary problems.
Con: More expensive to spay than neuter.
Con: If you do not spay before they come into heat they are VERY obnoxious.
Con: They tend to be more crabby in age.
Both male and female cats are unique in there personalities and you cannot say ALL male cats are better than females, or vice versa. I tend to prefer female animals in general (maybe because I am the only woman in a house with a husband and three sons).

they are usually friendlier, you must spay them and best to do it before their first estres because that prevents breast cancer and also the rare vaginal infection in cats. if they are a bit on the masculine side they will start spraying to show whose boss, just like a tomcat, but not if they are spayed before they have their first estres. they arent as likely to run off but its best to keep a pet cat in the house if you can. no real cons other than if they arent fixed, you get kittens ,howling, and well all that other stuff.

I love my Sylvie who sleeps in my bedroom and comes to cuddle under the covers in the early morning.
I love my Amber Child who is so petite and dainty (though a little pudgy) She is so soft and squishable.
I love my old lady tortoiseshell who likes to be scratched under her chin, has lots of attitude and regal dignity.

My female is very affectionate, BUT it's on her terms. She wants attention when she wants it not when I want to give it.
They get pregnant, make sure you get yours spayed.
