Well many of them have never read the bible. Some of the few that actually do read it, do so only to try and disprove it. Of course without the Holy Spirit, they don't understand the meaning. That is why fools like Dominic Curan and Elaine Pagels, who have studied the scripture for years, come up with ideas that can be shot down by a novice Christian who has the Holy Spirit.

that site is rediculous. it takes the bible and asumes everything in it is the truth and then stretches science around the book. there is no way the entire world could flood killing everybody but noah and 5 other people or whatever it was. there isnt enough water on the planet to cover the entire surface, and at that point there would have been people in asia africa and europe for sure based on fossile records. just listen to the science and let it explain what actually happend, not what a bunch of uneducated storytellers wrote down thousands of years ago.

Just as true as most Christians are just "parroting" what they have heard. I wish it were not so, but most Christians don't know what they believe, or why, or where it came from. Most just mimic passages, and have no concept of where the passages came from or the context of the culture at that the time. The level of religious illiteracy is appalling.

Well, I parrot the arguement I learned from my Philosophy class about how god cannot possibly be omnipotent, omniscient, and all loving.

But so what if it is parroting? If you can't defeat the arguement the first time, then what's to stop people from using it the second time? And if you did defeat it the first time, then defeat it the second time as well. Not that you did.
