Apparantly, YES, you are that retarded... but at least you can admit it...

On the other hand, I'm setting up a private blackjack game, would you like to join it?

casinos are designed to distract people, ever look at the carpet? Its repugnant and loud, forcing you to look at all of the gaming tables. If someone else at another table was doing well or it was generally loud, I can see how you could become distracted. Don't feel too badly about it, find another opportunity to go, try going early in the morning when it can be quieter than at night. I've made some stupid mistakes playing blackjack too, but as long as you know what you did, just focus on the game a little more. Good luck!!

Happens to everyone. Though sometimes it feels like I've never had 21 at a blackjack table and wouldn't know the feeling.

Actually, if you were dealt 21 (Ace, 10), that's not as bad because at least you don't automatically bust.
But if you hit TO GET TO 21, and busted because of it ... yeah, sorry, that is pretty bad.
Usually a good dealer will sort of 'double check' with you on hits like that, though. "Are you sure you want to hit on 21 sir?"

No you are not retarded. You were probably playing much to long or had something else on your mind at the time. I live in Vegas and i play poker all the time and some of the tournaments take hours and hours to complete, so i have made some mistakes like misreading my hand when i was distracted and it cost me.

usually the dealer wont hit you.. its a rule in casino if you get black jack the dealer will automatically pay you off before any other player are done playing. Unless ofcourse if the dealer has an Ace as the first open card.

We all have moments like that. It's just unfortunate that your moment came when you had money riding on it.
