It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. Hollywood has money and people invest at will. And they can afford to consult with experts in any given field. NASA is a government agency. Their research is important in the areas of defense, aeronautics and medicine, but the salaries pale in comparison to the ones in Hollywood.

Hollywood has a lot of money to spread around. They like, particularly when making a film or series that pushes the envelope, to lend credence to the story line by hiring experts in the field. The military supports this and has been very helpful in giving our soldiers, regardless or rank, the opportunity to participate........they are generally consultants.

2001 had an ex NASA engineer help develop and Art Direct the space craft/ capsules and technology....and with the increased need for accuracy a lot more of these experts in their specialised fields are recruited on production.....
...The inference that any film itself would be 'Propaganda' driven I beleive is a falacy.....However in the drive to get funding, it may very well happen...morally however most producers know better.

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.

Don't worry about it. Hollywood hates our military and our country.
They consider their fans and the common people trash, in many cases.
