What is the difference between a Cal-King bed and a regular king bed?

Cal-king is longer. My husband is 6' 5" and head needs a Cal-king.

They are slightly different sizes.

Regular King - 76" by 80"
California King - 72" by 84"

i always thought they were the same but all my bed sheets never fits...yeah! small difference only
