I went on a class trip w/ a couple of ppl to yellowstone N.P. in the begginning of summer. One of these ppl is a girl that works w/ me at the pool. I decided to go see a movie w/ the ppl i went and of course invited her. Now theres a rumor going around at work that im dating w/ her. Both me and her r really shy(her especially) and i dont want to put her in a bad spot. Should i wait till this passes or do something about it.

It depends on how you feel about her.
If you feel the way " they " are describing, GO FOR IT!!!
If not, you need to very gently sir her down and talk with her, and apologize for what the others are saying, and tell her that you hope it didn't hurt her feelings. That would let her down easy just in case she really does like you. And if she DOESN"T, no harm, no fowl right? AND the air is clean again !!!!
Tell your friends to butt out and to let you handle the situation !

You obviously liked her enough to go to the movies with her - perhaps people see the two of you as being compatible. You should have a talk with her - tell her you don't want to put her in a bad spot. But you can also ask whether she might be interested in going to a few more movies, etc - maybe you two shy people will have a good time together.
At least one of you won't be embarrassing the other by putting straws up your nose!

if i was you and since you said that you both were shy i would ask her if she has heard the rumor of the two of you dating and if she says yes then ask her if she would like to make it officail and start dating good luck or you could just let everybody know that you are not dating but that could hurt the girls feelings as well as her self esteem good luck

Ignore it. Rumors have a way of dying out when no one responds to them. To deny the rumors means you will be adding fuel to the fire.

you should talk to her about it, see how she feels. If you're concerned that she may like you, think about how you feel. If you think you might like dating her, talk to her about that too. Be kind though no matter what you decide, whether it's to ask her out or to tell her that you need to clear the air that you two aren't dating. make sure though that you do discuss you're decisions with her considering it's her problem too.

Just let it pass.....rumors are everywhere all the time...there is nothing you can do about people running their mouths except maybe threatening them or punching their lights out.

talk to her and tell her not to feel bad. dont try and intervene with the people who are spreading the rumours, just wait till it passes. Tell the girl to do the same.

Do something like what? If someone asks you directly of course you say no we aren't dating. Other than that you will just fan the flames and make it worse. Who cares what they say anyway?
