Take a cough med that doesn't contain alcohol and you'll be fine.

It's probably more common than we know. Some people who take antidepressants are "doctor shoppers" and get different prescriptions from different doctors. That can be dangerous. Taking pills for depression is palliative, but It doesn't deal with the problem. You should look for a good psychiatrist who can get you into a support group. Depression is not something people can handle on their own, and it is often more complicated than a chemical imbalance in the brain. It may cost you to get the treatment you need, but in the long run it will be a lot less costly than a never ending stream of medications. It's interesting that even researchers admit they don't know why drugs like Prozac work, just that they do seem to help some people. Good luck.

I've taken cough medicine, Alka-Seltzer Cold and Aleve Cold & Sinus all while taking Lexapro, and never had any sort of reaction at all. I didn't think about it before taking it, though. Lexapro is just something that I "do."

Ive mixed that stuff with all the rest of the craziness in the world. It wont do anything that bad to you. But, some advice: don't mix it with 4 birth control pills, risperdal, numerous advil, hydrochodine and affinagrine

Yes, you can mix the two. Unless, of course, you have a prexisting allergy to any of the ingredients in the cough syrup.

I take lexapro and have ingested everything from LSD, Ecstasy, Mushrooms, weed, cocaine, salvia, alcohol with no negative effect, (other than the ones from the drugs themselves)
