You can say something along the lines of "Excuse me, but I do not feel that it is necessary to answer this question, and I would hope you respect me by not asking it again."

I'm afraid you’re just too nice. Sometimes being blunt is the only thing some people get. Yes, they may get mad. Yes, they may have their feeling bruised. But the one thing you will not be is badgered. All my friends, and people that even casually know me, know 100% where I stand on an issue. If they ask me a question, I will answer it or I will tell them to mind their own business. Beat around the bush? Not on your life. I'll step right on it (without breaking anything) and get through it without any ambiguity. I truly believe in the theory of take me as I am or F*ck Off.

This is typical behavior of someone that truly does not care about others. You are under no obligation to be extra-tactful with people that are clearly RUDE. In addition, your personal life is YOUR personal life. You do not need to share the intricate details with others. If you wish to be polite just say things like, "I don't feel COMFORTABLE discussing this issue with you." Once you have expressed discomfort, you are setting the stage for possible future "Sexual Harassment" charges. If this is a fellow colleague, and he continues to harass you, then...he is creating "a hostile working environment" for you. Thus, you are clearly within your right to seek administrative support to end his harassment.

First thing, let me tell you that It's Not About You.
There are hundreds of thousands of people all arounfdthe world who come here to ask and to answer. If you ask the same question twice in one week, you may never get the same person replying.
try it yourself..

Well darling you could just tell them straight up that they don't seem to understand that you don't wish to share personal information........if the person meant something to you you would't have a problem sharing experiences right? When its someone you don't care about you have no interest in them learning from your llfe lessons........thats up to you. Just tell the bloke its none of his business and you would appreciate it if he would quit asking.

Just be honest. "I think we already discussed this" or "Didn't I already tell you I'd rather not talk about it?" or "Please don't ask me about that again. I don't want to discuss it." Very polite.
Then, if he STILL continues, you don't have to be polite anymore.
