The Land of Crocodile Dundee !
In a nutshell ..............
Sydney, New South Wales - famous Sydney Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, take a harbour cruise, great city.
Melbourne, Victoria - most interesting city centre with amazing architecture, surrounding areas beautiful.
Adelaide, South Australia - in the heart of wine country
Perth, Western Australia - best city of all, with Swan River flowing by the city, free city centre transport, Wave Rock a must-see (giant rock in the shape of a tidal wave).
Ayers Rock in the centre of Australia - red rock with aboriginal history and meaning - can climb upto a lower level.
Brisbane, Queensland - with its queenslander homes (houses on stilts, high to catch the evening breezes).
Cairns, Queensland - the Great Barrier Reef area with rain forests where you can take the cable car above the canopy of the forest, and see the orchids growing, take a boat out to the Reef and snorkel or scuba to see the amazing coral reef.
Darwin, Northern Territory - jumping off point for the Kakadu National Park, 2nd largest national park in the world with its animals, flora and crocodiles. See the fires light up the night sky - set by the aborigines to help the forest regenerate.
Beautiful country, but even more beautiful is New Zealand, so take a stopover there on your way

Bring time. I hope you like cities and deserts, cause that's what you'll get. Oh, and beaches. It's a bit like what would happen if all of the US were Arizona, with beaches around it. As for sights, people are usually crazy abouit the official stuff, but how about just hanging out in Sydney and enjoying a city that's not in the US? Could be at least a little exotic (well, less so than Mexico, but...)

Hi there my American friend

Please come to Melbourne as we have plenty to do and to see!
Our beaches are beautiful and so are our El -Fresco out door eateries and Cafes/Pubs.
St Kilda is the hub of excitement and has hundreds of cake shops and Luna Park (this is a must).
The shopping is really great too - try DFO = Direct Factory Outlet.
Then we have South bank, a beautiful romantic stretch of restaurants situated on the water front. What a sight at night. So romantic.
The country is situated only an hour from Melbourne and you can see kangaroo's jumping to their hearts content.

Come, experience, enjoy
Beautiful!

G'day I'm from Sydney, Australia. Start your trip in Sydney (biggest city in Australia) and work your way up the coast. Hire a car is the best thing to do. Make your way up the coast to sunny Queensland... best beaches in the world - Great Barrier Reef which must be seen!
