Can't speak for others, of course, but I am a Christian and I see nothing wrong with contraceptives. It's better to prevent pregnancies than have to deal with an unwanted child.
I disagree with abortion in some situations. If the baby is horribly deformed, or the mother was raped, I could understand having an abortion. But if someone just sleeps around without using protection, I don't think the baby should have to pay for it with his/her life.

It depends on the type of contraceptives. Once conception takes place there will never be another human being like the one intended to be born. Your logic doesnt hold. Your right premarital sex will never stop, but thats not the issue. The issue is whats right and wrong. There is no such thing as YOUR truth and MY truth. The fact that you even indicate that you think abortion isnt a great thing means you realize something is WRONG with it. Its in us all, it depends on what we do with it or how much we surpress it. Scraping a woman out is not the answer. Before sex is the time to make the correct "choices". I personally believe that contrceptives that prevent conception are okay. Hey I need to get laid.

I think you are confused. I am against all abortions except those rare ones which are medically necessary to save the life of the mother.
I am not against contraceptives. My wife and I have used them. What we do object to, is our children being taught by schools, in graphic detail, how to use them and making them easily available. I believe this actually encourages kids to have pre-marital sex. I am fully aware that many kids will have sex prior to marriage. However I do not feel that our education system should be promoting it. In many cases that is what happens. I mean really, condoms are not difficult to figure out. All that they should teach is the basics. But they don't. Instead they keep trying to push the envelope with homosexuality, oral sex, etc. In one case the teacher had the students taste the condom so they would know what that was like. Why in the world we he feel it was appropriate to do that? Because he felt that his homosexuality was fine and he wanted to make sure that the kids understood it from his perspective.
Basics are fine. Radicals are not.
Also some forms of birth control actually kill the fetus. Contraceptions prevent conceptions so that part is ok.

I'm not necessarily against contraception. Some fundamentalists are.
What the real issue is (and you have hit it) is the difference between what WILL happen and what SHOULD happen (at least, from the belief of the presenter).
I admire those who take a stance on what they think SHOULD happen even in the face of almost guaranteed failure because that is a person standing on their principles. I don't necessarily have to agree with their principles to admire that they stand for them.

I agree, being against contraceptives is just nuts, and so is being against abortion in all cases, even if it's to save the mother. They deny basic human needs, claiming sex should only be done for procreation not enjoyment...yeah, I don't agree with alot of what they believe.
Also, the Bible clearly states that God does not consider us human until we are naturally born and breathe air on our own, meaning that it would not consider a fetus a human...so why do they use that to defend themselves?

Good question..I see it this way
Contraception=Less unintended pregnancies=less abortions
It's that simple.
People are not going to stop having sex just cause you tell them to. Some people wanna live in a fantasy land that no one had sex outside of marriage before the 60's. LOL
I say, if you don't believe in sex before marriage, good for you practice your faith as you see fit. The only thing I object to is having that faith pushed on me. I'm a grown adult and will make my own decisions regarding my sex life, which is none of anyone's buisness.

They are not necessarily againts those things, they are aginst sex before marraige all together, hence the results and preventive measures as well. Also they believe life is sacrad as well as marraige, which are true, but nowadays a divorce is sometimes a good thing, abortion as well, and condoms ecspecially, They are like old school fans of baseball, you know they believe Babe Ruth is it and no other is acceptable.

theyre jus against premarital sex all 2gether. i suppose they think "hey, there wouldnt be a use 4 abortion or contraceptives if ppl would jus not hav sex outside of marriage." theyre not thinking about the RESPONSIBILITY being taken when using contraceptives. they only see the sin of premarital sex, period.

I know that I am going to have a lot of people disagree with me, but this is why I, and alot of Christians, disagree with contraception and abortion. We believe that every life born is a life that was meant to be born. God is the one who chooses which beings are born, how long they live, and when and how they die. It is not for us as humans to decide. I had a co-worker as me a similar question, and asked me what if a 13 year old got pregnant, should she have an abortion? I said that it was not up to me to decide that. I believe in the teachings of the Bible and though I may not understand everything about the Bible and the laws of Christianity that God gave us, I didn't make the rule, God did, and as a Christian we are taught not to question God. It says in the Bible that God does not give us all the secrets (don't ask me in exactly what book, cause I don't remember, my dad read it to me yesterday) but he says that some secrets he chooses to tell us in Heaven. Most Christians are not telling people not to do certain things because it is their own personal opinion, but because it is told to us in the Bible, and even though no Christian is perfect and everyone sins, we are to strive to be Christ like, even though God already knows that we will fall short, that is why he allows us to ask forgiveness and he will grant it. Every Christian falls short of what God wants us to do and how he wants us to live our lives. Anyways that is my opinion.

The life begins at conception arguement is nothing but willful ignorance. At conception, the zygote is a cluster of living cells. Before conception, the sperm is a bunch of living cells and the egg is a living cell. No difference, no consciousness.
