Wicca is one of the most formally recognized "Earth Based" religions, it respects the balance of nature in its for basic tenants. It revers the Old Ones. Its traditional roots predate Christianity and go back to England, Scotland, Ireland, and Gaul, mostly it is based on oral tradition form Celtic ancestry. The word means Wise, as a Wicca was a person who understood the ways of nature and the good and the bad, the health and harm therein. A Wicca can be a neo-pagan, but a neo-pagan is not necessarily a Wicca. The key of the Wicca belief is as it harms non, do what ye will.

So, how did I do?

I love wicca, I think it's the best religion based on love and respecting mother earth :) There's nothing negative about this religion.

Good for you :) I tried when I was younger to become wiccan but couldn't find someone to help me and guide me through it and I kind of gave up but I learned a lot during this time and respect the true wiccans, not the ones who want to learn the basics and abuse it in some way.

Sister, if you say you're Wicca, why would I call you anything else?

As to my opinion of Wicca, I've extensively studied various religious and quasi-religious beliefs, including Wiccan. My conclusion is that those who call themselves Wicca are new-age pagans. They're generally fascinated by mysticism & magic (however you care to spell it), and are searching for something to make them feel special.

Several years ago, I knew a young man who called himself a vampire. (I've studied that subculture, too -- it's most likely based upon old stories of a rare medical condition). Well, he walked around in the daytime (in a trenchcoat, even in summer), acted depressed and tried to be intimidating. He also ate solid food, didn't catch fire in sunlight, and couldn't fly or turn into a bat to save his life. Was he a vampire?

It saddens God (and those of us who are Christians) to see so many lost souls trying to *define themselves* and become *part of something special* when all you need to do is recognize that you are a child of God, and follow the teachings of Jesus to have the most intimate and rewarding connection of this life (and the next) with YOUR CREATOR, God.

You are my fellow kin of nature, a believer in the Goddess and her ways. I myself am a Druid and get called a "devil worshipper" often myself. I hold a high respect for those that follow the path of the Goddess and Nature, for it is hard sometimes to handle the constant attacks from those who do not understand our ways. Who cares what you believe, they have no right to judge you for what you choose to practice. Remember, Freedom of Religion, means Any Religion.

i know or think i know that wiccans worship spirits around them and the dead at times, not in a creepy way, but to some extent. the pentagram is a symbol of protection, not neccesarily satanic, i know spells can be a part of the religion, like catnip as protection, but it's not like you're casting curses on people...

I DO believe in Faeries!

I'm down with it. I've studied Wicca extensively before becoming atheist.

Wicca, like any pagan belief, puts you on a path away from the true God and the only way to salvation, which is by faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore, what you are right at this moment is "lost". I pray to God you will not remain that way the rest of your life.

No offense, just my belief.

Although wiccan may not be directly worshiping Satan, you are disobeying God, which is a sin and also pleasing to Satan, the spirit of Satan is the one who invented wicca, it involves demonic powers which truly come from Satan, to put it simply by doing wicca you are a slave to satan, but there is someone who wants to set you free and His name is Jesus Christ.

I don't think they worship the devil. I think it's more about the force of nature. Instead of praying to a God to help you with something, you use the force of nature to get it done. That's what I always thought it was about.

I have no problem with Wiccans. I have good friends that are Wiccans and my daughter is trying to learn to be Wiccan also. I think that is cool that she feels free enough to want to do something like that.
