student loans.?

I am going to have to give a little bit of history here. My mom and i ran a daycare togeather. Believe it or not we both wanted to become chiros. So we gave up the daycare and went to college togeather. Of course i got student loans. then bam, my mom had to have a tumor removed from her neck. She was unable to move her arm. So she was unable to become a chiro. So i quit school to be there for her an Now we had no money to speak of. Only now are we getting money. we reopened the daycare. The student loan people are now giving me threats (i was unable to pay them before) They want 900 now and then make payments. I dont have 900 now and offerd to pay 200 now and then 250 amnth till its paid off.(i owe 7 grand). they now tell me that i cant get my plates renewed till the money is paid. welll how can i drive to work with expired plates. therefor they would not get paid.i rent and my car is paid for? what can they do to me? Its not like dont want to pay, but they wont take my offfer

I asked on Yahoo answers because i thought there might be some people who are or where in my shoes

Tell them, That's the best you can offer right now. They will take it if that's all you have. Then ask to make payments that you can afford.

you're just going to have to find a way to figure this out. can you take the bus to work? then you don't have to pay gas money. and you might have to get another job to have the extra money. there are options and people out there to help you, just just have to look in the right places, preferably not yahoo answers.
