Why does it seem that about 99% of the time, the people on here(be it Atheist, agnostic, or just those that plain don't believe) who have rude, nasty, hateful, ignorant rantings, and immature comments, don't want to show their contact information? It seems to me, that if you have a nasty comment to make to someone or if it makes you feel bigger to curse at someone or insult them, then you should be big enough to accept the backlash of your statements. Even if I don't agree with the opinion of a non-believer, at least they don't seem to want to give their opinion and then not be willing to accept others opinions or comments back to them. Anyone else agree, that if you can dish out the hateful comments, then you should be an adult and take them?

You are right, there are some "Christians" who dish it out and then block their contact info as well, but what I am saying applies to anyone who is so childish that they get on here and ask questions or give answers that include hateful comments or curse words. It just comes across as ignorance when insults and cursing is the only way you can speak to people. If someone does that, they are never going to be taken serious.

It goes both ways. The believers aren't guilt free either.

some of them are the same people over and over. They use different identities so that they can seem to have more support. Also it allows them to get nasty and stupid. All they have to do is start a new ID. There are a few intelligent atheist and agnostics who act more respectful. I think when these guys get rude it is often just a joke taken the wrong way. Can't blame them for joking about something they don't believe in. Most all of them can at times be sensitive. I have a theory that many atheist developed their belief after being hurt severely. So I try to remember this and not get angry with them. I don't think I do a good job, but I'm doing better. We have to let them see Christ in us.

I have my contact info up. Not an atheist, but don't like the mindless rhetoric spewed by the far right "Christians". They spit out as much holy vitriol as any ignorant rantings you complain about. I've blasted both sides, ignorance is ignorance. I've got a few e-mails, and have had some excellent discussions with people who disagree with me. This site makes you think. If everyone agreed with everything that was posted here, it would be boring as hell! Fire away!

I'm a pretty outspoken non-abrahamic believer (nor participating in any other world religion), however I am a believer and my contact info is free for all to see, and most of all I agree that in the competition of ideas and beliefs that time is the real test. Ow, and hateful comments aren't cool either. Its ok to disagree but insulting behavior isn't. This site is particularily dense with antagonist and immature participants.

peace

please don't stereotype non-believers as rude. nasty, immature people. There are plenty "Christians" on this site that are the same way. I don't judge you and lump you into a category based on your beliefs please extend that same courtesy to me. As for not posting personal contact info, i personally don't want to chat with people on here, I'm here to answer and ask question and because i generally enjoy the site. Not that I'm really inclined to leave a "rude comment" to anyone, if they really bother you so much stop participating. It's just an Internet forum if people so offend you join some other place or ignore them and don't take it personally like the rest of us don't.

Are you saying that only non believers are rude? I've come across a few too many beleiving rude people too...not sure what that has to do with being polite. Either you are polite, or you're not.

But in reference to your question...I couldn't give a rat's rear end what morons on yahoo answers have to say as an insult to me. They don't know me or you, so why would you even want to take issue with them? It's just not worth your time or effort.

So why is it that all the rude, nasty, hateful, ignorant rantings, and immature comments that I receive for my questions are given by Christians who do not show their contact information?

I believe in God. And your right people should be able to take what they dish out, but I believe the people who do that don't really act like that when they are not on the computer and I believe that even when people do stuff that is immature like that, don't respond to them because it's almost like your feeding there ego. They see it makes you angry and they get a kick out of doing it and they will continue.

I agree. To some extent. Most often it is not worth it to even attempt to contact that person. I have had people say some really nasty things about me and I don't care because they aren't here seeing what I am doing with my life, how I am raising my children ect. Let people say what they want, think what they want to think. Go with the flow.

Um - I'm not really sure that goes along with the Y!A T.O.S.

And it's interesting that YOU are complaining that people make "rude, nasty, hateful, ignorant rantings, and immature comments" given some of the "questions" that you've posted here.
