Studies show Americans tend to vote based on their party identification and the issues at hand play only a minimal impact in determining one's vote. By the time each party nominates their candidate, 75% of Americans already know how they are going to vote for and the remaining percentage base their vote on a particular or multiple issues. I vote based on party but vote against my party when it comes to an issue i do not agree with.

many issues. The Democrats represent the working class, the republicans represent the rich. Both parties are corrupt. Life is filled with choices made for the lessor of two know evils.
In order to defeat evil you must first know evil for what it is. The Republican party is evil beyond redemption.
BTW, Republicans also vote the pocket book over what is good for America, every time. They don't really care at all about what is good for America, they care about Money and power. If you want to face the real facts, that is truth. Look at who they voted in twice, they would vote for Bush again if they could, they got the tax cuts and they don't care at all about the $9 trillion debt Republicans have run up for working class tax payers. They also don't care about the $2 trillion cost of the war in Iraq, they want you to pay for their mistakes. Republicans also want to end Social Security, they hate it, always have, they don't care if your Mother or Father starves in the streets. They will send the USA into bankruptcy to end Social Security.

It is the same, in America we have 2 major parties each party has there own stance on the issues. Most people lean towards one party or the other. I lean towards the republican side, I believe in the right to life, a strong military, and religious freedom. The real question is do you believe when the worst thing imaginable happens that the person you vote for will do everything in their power to protect and preserve you and your families way of life.

Issues! Politicians need to know they're supposed to work for US not their own or their party agendas.Always vote your conscience and you never go wrong. Well, at least you'll sleep with a clear conscience and earn the right to complain. Peace!

the issues MOST important to me right now are same-sex marriage and education. as a lesbian, obviously i'm pushing for gay rights and equality and as a student, education is very important..oh..and immigration reform is important to me

I try to vote issues, but the ballot doesn't have issues on it, it has candidates. And, on most issues, I side with the Dems.

Taxes, eminent domain laws, civil liberties in general, law enforcement, environment, LGBT rights (particularly same-sex marriage--I want to be legally married.)
I'm Libertarian, but am not sure that the free market can handle workers' rights or environmental protection entirely without governmental intervention.

I'm what's called in the South a "Yellow Dog" Democrat. That means I am faithful like an old yellow dog. I vote strictly on party lines. That's who I am, and I won't apologize for it.
