My RCA RT2360 home theater system is no longer turning on, I received an 'overload' warning prior to my system shutting down, it is in a well-ventilated area yet is extremely hot, any advice would be greatly appreciated as alot of work went into setting the system up

Is it possible that you have a short in one of your speaker leads? Just one strand of wire crossing from positive to negative at either the receiver or speaker end will cause exactly what you are describing. Carefully reconnect all of your speaker leads then replace your blown fuse.

You may have a problem with the amplifier load (speakers). Have you made any changes to your system? Such as different or additional speakers? Check you speaker cabling to make sure that there are no worn spots or exposed wires that could be shorting out. If there is nothing that you can find wrong with your setup, it may be that there is a failure in the amplifier. The way your question is worded is not clear whether this has just started happening, or if it never has worked right. If the latter, I would certainly suspect a problem with the speaker hookup.
If the system doesn't turn on at all after you got the overload warning, there is probably a blown fuse in the output circuit. I don't recommend replacing any fuses until you find the source of the problem--they will just blow again.
