I've seen this a lot in my preschool classroom. They are just getting the hang of going to the toilet. I think that it is a "better safe than sorry" kind of thing. They would rather go soon as they feel the urge, than waiting, and having an accident. She'll out grow it as she becomes more confident.

If you have already made sure she doesn't have a medical problem, maybe she is playing a game with you? Perhaps she likes the idea of being on the potty chair or likes the attention she gets on the potty chair. If you don't wisk her away to the potty chair right away, does she have an accident? Perhaps you should try to get her on a potty schedule or something for awhile. I'm not an expert so make sure she doesn't have medical problems first before trying anything else.

My daughter has days that she does this. Like she will go pee, then 20 mins later, say she has to go again---and poop. Sometimes only a little poop comes out....and she might go back 30 mins later and finish. I know my daughter doesn't want to wet her pants, and she will sit and then tell me the pee pee didn't want to come out. I think it is just them getting the hang of things. You need to observe what is going on more closely. Because at first, I did worry she might have a bladder infection--which is common with newly potty trained kids. So, I see if she is peeing--a little bit, more frequently, asking her if it burns....etc. In fact, I even took her urine in to get sampled once. But, nope--it's just her on certain days.

Hi, yep me. I had my girls a while ago now, but it seems once they got the hang of it, it was a very proud moment for them as they got praised for doing the right thing, also they had fun,,,they learned something totally new. It wouldn't hurt to take her to see a doctor, but I would be pretty sure if she is not complaining of any burning, or rubbing down there that she would have a problem, medically. Kids are pretty good at giving parents signs if something is wrong, so if no grumpiness, itching, pain when passing urine, this must be a happy moment for her. Good luck, hope all goes well, eighter way.

It sounds like a bladder infection, it can cause them to feel like they have to use the bathroom, even if they are not... bladder infections an be caused my taking too many bubble baths...if you can't afford the doctor go get 100% cranberry juice and have her drink that and plenty of water..but it has to be 100% juice it cannot be the juice cocktail it is not 100% juice..I believe Ocean Spray has Cran Grape that is 100% juice. I think bladder infections can also be caused my drinking too many carbonated beverages.

Nope, but take her to a doctor-maybe there is a medical issue, if not then maybe she is just making sure she never has an accident by going all the time.

Some kids may be the same age but bladder readiness varies in each of them...or maybe she drinks a lot of fluids...or maybe she is so excited to go she wants to go a lot!...whatever it is I wouldn't worry.

yeah my daughter was like that when she first learned to go to the bathroom most of the time it's just a phase, but check into it because it could be signs of a bladder or kidney infection.

She could have a bladder infection or a urinary tract infection. You can get them from sitting in dirty bath water or not cleaning properly. Just take her to the doctor.
