Try sugar substitutes like Splenda, which is actually made from real sugar, but is not as bad for you. Then there is also Sweet N Low and Equal, but Splenda is considered the best. Another one is Nutrasweet, often found in diet drinks. Using any of these would be like using a nicotine patch or chewing gum to help you stop smoking.

A friend of mine once joked that he was going to have the dentist pull his sweet tooth.!!!

Actually the taste for sugar is one we develop over time. And because it tastes soooo gooood we don''t like to give it up.

Warning: Sugar is addictive.

AH, but you already know that don't you?

If you are like me you can be real good for about three days, no sugar.

Near the end of the third day you buy the biggest candy bar you can find and rip the rapper to shreds to get in there at the goodies.
OH, but then you get thirsty and have to rinse it down with some liquid.

OH BOY, Cola here it comes. AHHH how sweet it is!

OOPS, did I just blow my three days of avoiding sugar in about thirty seconds? YUPPER!

It took years to cultivate that craving and it will take at least a few months to get rid of it.

But look at the positive side. People who avoid sugar seldom get diabetes, have fewer strokes and fewer false teeth!!

I think it is worth the trade off.

I have learned to substitute honey on crackers and bread to satisfy my sweet tooth, it is much better for you and has nutrition. Sweet fruits can help too in the same way.

I wish you luck in your battle of the sweets and the resulting bulge. OH good grief don't get me started on that.

Now where did I put those oversized, baggy sweatpants.??

I have not figured out a way around them. However, there is alot you can do with the sweetners. Angel food cake is a good one that is not too fattening to use as a filler with Strawberries.
There are alot of sweets that are low in calories. It just takes some digging around and Splenda is a good one to try.
