I have a Caonon A80 digital camera, I'd like to buy a 2G CF card (only costs me $70 CAD) for it. But I was told that Caonon A80 digital camera use CF card I (Type I ) ,not CF card II (type II), so I get confused, what kind of 2G CF card can be used in my Caonon A80 digital camera. Thank you in advance.

You are correct, this camera will not allow support for CF type II cards. The A80 only takes type I, which means you can't use any microdrive or some larger capacity type II solid state CF cards. This may not be very important to the average user, but if the A80 is used as a pocketable backup camera for a DSLR shooter it may mean some cards will be incompatible.
Type II is slightly thicker than type I, that is why it won't work with your camera.

Hi,

Yes, You can purchase a SanDisk, Lexar, or Kingston 2GB type I CF card and those will work without any problems.

BTW, a DSLR shooter is a Digital Single Lens Reflex camera. I think you were reading off photo.net. DSLR are cameras that is associated with changeable lens like Rebel XT or D50.
