Now you can forget about any kind of easy sentence. Theyll just reschedule and the judge won't be easy. No big deal though. You really dont need to go if youre going to pay the whole fine and take all the points. A court date is just an opportunity for a lesser fine. And yes, they'll still take your money if its late. Haha... good ole cops.

Now you probably have a warrant out for your arrest if the court date was the 11th and not the 20th, You should call the court house and check to see what the court date is. Or simply go to the courthouse to pay the ticket.

Call the clerk of the court. You were probably tried in your absence. The fine may be different than what was filled in on your ticket. In VA if the officer does not show up, the case is thrown out (innocent until proven guilty and all that)
Sometimes you can pay on-line. The best thing is to call or post your jurisdiction so you can get a more accurate response. Different counties handle these matters differently.

Every state is a little different, here for example, if you don't pay a traffic citation your license will be suspended and depending on the judge you may be issued a warrant.
If it's an honest mistake I would recommend calling Court Services and explaining the situation. You may get a break or you may have to pay an additional fine to reinstate your drivers license on top of the original fine.
Here's a little secret, if your license is suspended due to a failure to pay fines, DON'T expect to get something in the mail telling you it's been suspended. Again, every state is different.

Send it in. They are usually just happy if things get paid. But more than likely there is a bench warrant that has been filled out with your name on it. You will need to contact an attorney and get them involved. Give them the ticket, let him/her know that you were told the 20th of Aug and that the officer wrote the 11th of August. Also, give the attorney the check and let him take it from there. Good Luck.

Well, as long as you pay the darn thing that's all that matters- late or not. I have had many tickets and that was always my excuse, but the bailsbondsman said " them damn laws don't care as long as you pay them their money." If anything just keep a copy of the check and if they try to pull you over just let them know it has been sent and you have the copy for proof. But.....if you want to be safe just call the courthouse and they'll tell you what to do.

There's a warrarant for your arrest by now. You need to call the court house where you were suppose to appear and explain to them just like what you said here. All they want is your money. But you better call them asap. Or you might get stopped on your way to work. And guess where you'll be going. Good luck.!

Uh oh. Just kidding. Court dates are just an opportunity to plead for a lesser punishment or deny the crime. I speak from experience when I say send the money in ASAP and you'll be fine. Don't do it again because the demerits add up. Once more... from experience!

Mail it in like you have planned, just call the court in a week or so to make sure that your debt is paid.

I would send the check certified mail and rush it. Put a nice formal looking letter in there apologizing about the mistake and hopefully they will let it go.
