Actually it is highly suggested that they consume fruits and veggies everyday or every two days, their diets should not only consist of seeds. You can go online and go for the specific breed of bird to see what they enjoy but here's a preview:
Apples, grapes,
Broccoli, Romain Lettuce, Dandelion leaves, grated carrots, green peppers.
the darker the vegetable, the better. No iceberg lettuce or celery, it will go straight through them, not healthy. No tomatoes cause of the acid. You can try some strawberries but don't be alarmed to find red feces at the bottom of the cage.
You can also give them some cheerios, crackers, cooked pasta (my canary loves that), some chicken (yes they do eat it, look it up). I hope i was helpful.

I had parakeets and that i unquestionably have a cockateil now and that i've got consistently tried to feed them culmination and vegetables yet they could not at all consume it. They did a similar ingredient my birds did. yet they do love millet spray which you will discover on the puppy shop. and likewise those long bars of seed held by utilising honey. basically circulate into the chook section contained in the puppy shop and you will discover it. yet they're going to circulate loopy over the millet spray.

Nice to see someone thats interested in feeding their bird a healthy diet.
Corn on cob, spinach, carrot tops, celery tops, broccoli, apple, pear, mung beans , field peas, snow peas, alfalfa, make sure sprouts are changed the same day though.
Multigrain bread, or fruit bread, cooked pasta, cooked rice, hardboiled egg mix once cooled.
20 to 35% Seeds and Nuts
Edible branches, leaves and flowers.
Find out which are non toxic.

they sure can. it is a must that you never feed them avocado, chocolate, coffee, hot cocoa, or any fruit with hard seeds or pits. strawberry is fun, but messy. so are mashed potaoes. my love bird enjoys flavored yogurt, hard-boiled eggs (mashed with a little of the shell), blueberries (also messy), pasta, rice, watermelon (or any other melon minus the seeds), yams, etc. remember this for nutrition, the darker the fruit or veggie, the more nutritional; yams rather than potatoes, mustard greens rather than lettuce, strawberries rather than watermelon, etc. they also enjoy an oranges slice or wedge. this again is a messy treat, and must be seeded first. have fun watching as your bird learns to eat human food. it can be very entertaining.

first: never give avacados, very toxic to birds. anyways, offer your guys fresh, well cooked pasta, apples, green beans, peas, rice, cherios, carrots, beets, broccoli, spinach, pears, peaches, berries. also, seed should be a SMALL percent of the total diet. a high quality pellet food, supplemented with the above is best

My parakeet squealed over bananas and watermelon. The only thing about the watermelon is that he got really runny poop afterward.
