I know in the past it was taboo to wear black to a wedding but I have this adorable pink shirt and boots to wear with it. Has tradition changed enough to wear the black skirt?

How well do you know the bride? If she's OK with it, go ahead. If you barely know her, I'd skip the black. The ban on black & white is to keep the guests from detracting from the Bride. It's Her day to shine, after all.
FYI: Traditionally, all black with a veil was worn during "Deep Mourning" (3-6 months). No woman (or man) would attend any parties or celebrations during this time. Unless the bride or groom was a member of the immediate family, no woman would appear in full mourning at a wedding. However, many a widow wore black for YEARS after her husband died, and it was perfectly acceptable to attend a wedding in a balck dress trimmed in grey or lavender. Up until the "little black dress" came into vogue.

Yes it is ok. with the pink shirt and boots I think it will look sharp!!
Tradition has changed I remember when to funerals you had to wear something dark. now is like a celebration of someone past life, you can wear any color. For weddings the only color you should not wear is white. I think you will look fantastic. Go and enjoy yourself.

People nowadays even wear black dresses to wedding, so a black skirt with pink top is definately ok. People are not as superstitious as before, unless you know the wedding couple are.

It is fine to wear the black skirt. I think all black was taboo, but not some black.

My family just went to a wedding, and my mom was going to wear a black dress. I told her that it wasn't ok to wear black to a wedding, but she did it anyway. We got there, and half the ladies were wearing black. Go for it.

I think if you keep the overall mood of you outfit light, it shouldn't be a big deal. My mom wore black slacks with a beautiful floral top to my wedding and I thought she looked great. I would only avoid it if you think it would specifically bother the bride or groom.

i could have theory so. as long as you at the instant are not donning all white, all cream, or all black, you shoudl be positive. I wore a black dress with white sewing component on the bust with a cream pashmina, and it replaced into positive.
