Depending on the age of the pup, yes it could be it's regular cycle. Female dogs' vaginas do swell (bloom) when it's "that time" for them. It's time to keep your dog from getting pregnant, and male dogs do not care, they will just "take it", so I would advise that you be careful with your girl dog unless you want to breed the animal (usually not a good idea on the first heat cycle of a young pup). You are going to have to be careful because now all of the boy dogs will think she is "special", and it does not take very long for a male dog to do his thing!
You may consider a cage for her now, or whatever it takes to protect her virtue. Good luck, she will be popular for a few weeks (in some cases), so you may need to consider taking special measures to protect her from breeding, she is an animal, and there will be a certain time during this when she will be a natural hussy!
Female cycles are quite the event in animal life! The call of the wild and all that, we have so many babies we can't even name them all!
If your pup is younger than 5 months, you may want to have a vet check her, I think most female canines go into their first cycle around 5 or 6 month of age. (?)

RE:
Vaginal Swelling is it normal for my dog?
I have a pit-bull puppy and I noticed that her vagina started swelling/pertruding? I also noticed some vaginal bleeding. Is this the normal menstruation process?

She is experiencing her first heat cycle. You should expect her to do this about every 4-6 months from now on. If you plan to have her spayed (great idea) then scheduling it for about a month from now would be an opportune time! You have nothing to worry about - she will be fine, just be careful about letter her around other dogs so that she doesn't become pregnant. Good Luck

Your dog is pro bally going into heat, which normally happens at around 5 to 6 months of age. These are normal conditions that occur. Just make sure she keeps clean cool and comfortable.. She may need some extra TLC, and some doggie diapers.

Yes on both counts. She will be a week coming in, a week in standing heat and a week going out. Keep her away from male dogs. Don't leave her outside alone even in a fence. Dogs jump fences to breed. Or climb under. Have her spayed in about 4 weeks.

sounds like she's in heat. its normal for puppies to hit puberty anywhere between 6 - 9 months depending on the breed. getting her spayed asap will take care of this messy problem :)

Female dogs menstrate too. Tell her congratulations she is no longer a pup anymore!!It does last longer though. She'll be fine but you need to get her fixed SOON unless you want little pups roaming around.

It is a normal cycle and the other time you will see swelling there is when she is in heat.
