For example if I worked out Monday and Tuesday, but skipped Wednesday, would it be normal to feel bad or out of shape Thursday

Sometimes when I miss a day of workout, I can feel the aches from the previous workouts, as if the muscles are trying to go back to their relaxed state. I usually don't feel the full effects of a workout until the next day either. I think there is a delayed reaction with regard to pain and tightness perception. If you work out again right away, it is probably masked by the immediate work the muscles are doing and only brought to your attention when you are not exercising. Just an idea anyway. It is something I've noticed too.

It's definitely not unusual to feel this way, but it varies from person to person. Working out and exercising causes your brain to release endorphins (the so-called "runner's high"), giving you that happy feeling. You should usually give your muscles a bit of time to relax between work-outs anyway so your muscles can rebuild (i.e: only work-out 4-5 days a week, taking 2-3 days off).

Yes, it does. Probably because you were doing so well with your workout routine and then all of a sudden, you missed a day. If anything, your body is responding to that missed day as well.
