We can't. It's based on genetics and the way people think and deal with their emotions in everyday life. With some people, you can eliminate depression and anxiety by "curing" it. Therapy and medication plays a role in that, but the biggest role played is the way the person helps change themselves. I used to suffer from major depression, but I don't anymore...and I think the biggest reason was because I simply found another medicine that worked for me...and it wasn't a pill. Disorders such as schizophrenia usually have to deal with it the rest of their lives...and a lot of the times it's in the persons genes.

stop screwing with our bodies with drugs would be a good start. Dont allow addicts to have children. make sure women arent doing drugs or drinking while pregnant.
thats the best i can do...some mental illness will still occur, but thats just something that will have to take care of itself over time.
