I had this as well after having my child -- I could barely walk the pain was so bad, and yes, I did have an infection. Have it checked out. Some soreness is to be expected, but a good rule is, if the pain is getting worse and not better, have it checked.
Congrats on the baby!!!

sounds like you may be doing too much! try a sitz bath to ease the pain, but CALL your OBGYN as soon as the office is open to get checked out. If you are back to bleeding heavily, get off your feet, and see if the bleeding gets lighter again.
I really do feel you need to get this checked out by your healthcare professional.

I dont think it should hurt that bad after a week. I think you should call the dr, especially if it looks swollen, it could be infected

The best thing to do is call your doctor and let him know. that is the only way you will feel secure. you have to stay healthy not only for yourself but for the baby too. so check with doc soon.

Are you doing your Sitz baths? Are you taking a stool softner? You should not be in that much pain. I would think it would look "normal". Call your doctor.

If there are toadstools coming out of it you can be pretty sure you have a fungal infection... You could put them in a pot, boil them and feed them to your baby :-)
