you say you dont trust anyone (a man you just met) to be alone with your kid(s)/baby after just meeting him for a few weeks, however, is it not the same as leaving the child with a babysitter that you just met for a few minutes?
Not sure if babysitting has changed but when I was a kid and mom and dad wanted to go out but no leave me alone they might have a teen come and stay with me. A teen they didnt really know much about.

I always do extensive interviews and reference checks before anyone watches my kids, that being said, I've only had a rare babysitter for my kids, my family is a great help with my kids because I am not comfortable brining temporary people into my children's lives. This goes for men as well. I've been seeing someone for quite some time and my kids don't know anything about him because I don't think that he'll ever be a permanent addition to our family, and though he's extremely nice, and I know without question I could trust him, I'd never introduce him to my children.

I would NEVER leave my child alone with someone that I just met. I would sacrifice going out first. That would be the same as leaving your child alone! Sounds like your parents were to worried about partying! I hope your not the same!

thingsa re much different now htan they use to be
what our parents did back then is not really ok to do now
i would not call a stranger to babysit my children... that is what family and friends are for
never ever trust your kids with anyone until ytou are so sure of them it is just not worth it... i would much rather miss out on a night of fun than have a stranger watch my children and risk ruining my child forever
the older they get the easier it is as they can communicate better with you and have a better idea on what is acceptable behaviour

Granted we all would love to know that the person we are leaving our child with can be trusted but Lord knows nowadays you can't really trust anyone completely

no, I wouldn't leave my kids with someone I just met. There is no way to know what kind of person is it.
